KUNU Dance Theatre is an independent contemporary dance company bringing together young dancers and choreographer Eglė Ukanytė. We create performances in which the body becomes the main storytelling tool. Our performances take place both on stages and in unexpected city spaces, inviting audiences into a live, courageous experience.
We offer not only dance performances but also cultural experiences, where each show is an original work with unique music. Our performances help audiences not only enjoy art but also experience it as therapy that frees them from everyday worries.
Our company is young, independent, and eager to express itself, despite the limited opportunities for young dancers in Lithuania to do so. We are proud that we did not give in to circumstances, and instead create a space for young dancers and choreographers. Our choreographer Eglė Ukanytė holds a master's degree in dance, and the other dancers have also gathered a great deal of experience while studying and working in Lithuania and abroad — all of this adds extra value to our performances. We are a team that is not afraid to experiment and that strives for innovation in art.
